Rebuild Gaza

Some months ago, after operation Protective edge, Qatar became the first country to offer financial aid to Gaza. It has apparently bid between 1-5 Billion dollars to help reconstruct the city to rebuild the homes lost in this massacre.

As of four days ago, several trucks have been arriving in Gaza to begin this new chapter. Its the first time since Israels military offensive that anyone has been allowed in to Gaza. The gulf state also hosts the exiled leaders of Hamas, the Islamist faction that still dominates Gaza.

Isn't it an amazing thing when technology can become a weapon for good rather than evil, to help change the idea and thought about something or someone. Hamas are suggesting a new way that is in their control, to answer questions from the public via twitter with the hash-tag #AskHamas.

Clowning Around

Everyone needs to smile and to forget things that can cause stress and heart ache. And I cant think of any people more in need of this then the Gazan People. After the 3 wars that they have seen and endured and the massacre of the last summer, their children are being left with scars so deep that they are suffering incredibly high delayed traumas and psychological breakdowns.

Olive Harvest in Palestine

I saw this great article in the telegraph about destination you must visit, Palestine. They have the most beautiful pictures showing the olive harvest with some incredible pictures, all very beautiful in their own right.

Finally here

Palestine On A Plate has been a long overdue labour of love and from the insistence of my friend Steph, I wouldn't have done this. He pulled this all together and pushed me forward to bring our home cooking to the forefront.
